Crowd & drive set 25mm motor to S45 tube

This set is designed exclusively for use with the 28mm Li-ion Q2.0 NM motor.

Crown and drive sets enable motors to be compatible with various tube sizes. It’s important to select the right set to ensure your motor fits and functions correctly. 

To identify your tube, use the “Tube Identifier Chart.” If your tube is listed and matches the internal profile exactly, you don’t need to purchase this set—it will already be included with your motor or kit. However, if your tube has the same outer diameter but a slightly different internal shape, these crown and drive sets can help determine whether the motor will fit your tube. This allows you to check compatibility before buying a motor.

1. How can I control the Automate Li-ion on my smartphone?

You can use it by installing the app on your phone. Download it from the App Store or the Play Store.

2. Should I remove the motor from the blinds in order to charge it?

No, the motor is charged while installed.

3. How long does the motor take to charge?

First charge takes 6 hours. Further charges up to 3 hours. Stop charging when the LED changes from RED to GREEN.

4. Why does my motor beep 10 times when in use?

Simply recharge with the AC adaptor that came with the blind.

5. Does the motor battery ever need replacing?

No, the battery is designed for the full life of the motor.

6. How many shade cycles can the Li-ion charge?

The Automate Li-ion batteries are estimated to power 500 up/down cycles per charge. These numbers are impacted by shade size and fabric weight, but on average our motors in prevalent size shades are able to last about a year and half under normal operation (one cycle per day).

7. How many times can the Automate Li-ion be recharged?

The rechargeable Automate Li-ion motors can successfully be recharged around 500 times. Lifecycle testing, which included radio sleep/wake cycling as well as load testing, identified that our motors can be successfully recharged 500 times.

8. Is there any danger to it being overcharged?

 The batteries cannot be overcharged. Automate motors feature a charge-management circuit that adjusts the amount of electrical current feeding the battery. As a battery reaches its maximum charge, the circuit will limit the current eventually shutting off power once the battery is fully charged.

9. What is the lifespan of a lithium ion battery?

Lithium Ion batteries degrade over time, slowly, as does everything. The real question is how much and when. Our lifecycle testing suggests that our Li-ion batteries exhibit nominal annual degradation and that the degradation is consistent over time (i.e. there is no cliff where the batteries will unexpectedly stop holding a charge). The batteries will degrade slowly over time – the rate depends on load, environmental conditions, manufacturing and use. But they can hold a meaningful charge for the duration of their lifespan–500 charges.

10. Why is the motor not responding?

It could be the following reasons:

  • The remote/sensor battery may be flat. Please replace the battery
  • The battery is inserted incorrectly into the remote/sensor. Please refer to your remote’s manual
  • The remote is too far from the motor
  • No power is present at the motor

11. I’m having difficulty pairing the remote to the motor, what could be the reason?

It could be the following reasons:

  • The wrong remote is used with the motor. Refer to section 1.1 above
  • The battery is not inserted properly into the remote
  • The motor may need to be reset

12. How do I calculate what a motor can lift?

(Nanometer x 200) / diameter = load. For example, a 34mm tube and 1.1 nanometer motor can lift 6.47kg (1.1×200/34)

13. Why can’t I set limits on single or multiple motors?

The reason could be multiple motors are paired to the same channel.

  • Always reserve an individual channel for programming functions
  • SYSTEM BEST PRACTISE – Provide an extra 15 channel remote in your multi motor projects for the installer. That provides individual control for each motor for programming purposes
  • Place all other motors into sleep mode [ref to P1]

14. How many remotes can be programmed to one motor?

15. Why does a motor lose its limits?

It could be the following reasons:

  • The battery is flat.
  • Someone accidentally reset the motor to factory settings.
  • There is interference, which is unusual.

16. The blinds are running in the wrong direction.

Refer to your motor manual to reverse the blind direction.

17. Can you hide channels that are not in use?

Yes, on a multi-channel remote, they can be adjusted to show the amount of channels in use; e.g. if there are 8 motors on the job you can select it to be an 8 channel remote.

18. What is channel 0 for?

All motors that are programmed to the same remote, automatically respond to channel 0. For example, on channel 0, pressing the up button will move all blinds that are programmed to that remote up.

19. How many motors can be controlled by one remote control?

Unlimited. An unlimited amount of motors can be set to the same channel as one single channel remote.

20. Where are the Automate products made?

We have a longstanding OEM manufacturing partner, who has been producing motors for over 30 years.

21. I am having issues installing the unit. What should I check?

Check for excessive friction in the assembly

  • Ensure that the tube deductions are correct
  • Ensure that there is a suitable clearance between the motor head & bracket
  • Ensure the idler pin is not pushing against the bracket, causing friction

22. Why is there a 3 core and a 4 core inline connector?

  • 3 core wiring is used for motors with electronic limit setting
  • 4 core wiring is used for motors with mechanical limit setting

23. What is ARC?

ARC stands for Automate Radio Communication. It is the latest motor control technology by Rollease Acmeda. It runs on a frequency of 433Mhz and is bi-directional, which means that control information can flow from a controller to the motor and from the motor back to a controller.

24. What are the advantages of ARC?

 It runs on a proven frequency, utilising FSK modulation, which improves resistance of interference against other devices. Programming has been improved for ease of use and installation.
